Description from the seller
Ferrania Falco I, 1947
A perfectly functioning machine, in like-new condition. The shutter has precise timings, lenses are clean and defect-free, and the light-tight bellows are in good order. Complete with the instruction booklet and case, both impeccably preserved.
It was purchased in Milan, on Corso Matteotti. On the booklet one can read the name of its first owner, Stefano Tossello, and that of a mountain village: Limone Piemonte, where he probably lived. Perhaps he took it with him through those valleys after choosing it in the city. Seventy years later, that name is still there, reminding where its story began.
Ferrania dating from 1947-1948. It represents an important piece of post-war Italian industrial photography history, born in a period when the Cairo Montenotte company sought to expand not only in film production but also in affordable cameras.
