Designed in 2014 by Florentine architect and designer Marta Sansoni for the prestigious "Objets-Bijoux" collection by Alessi, "Fior d'olio" is an iconic mechanical gem created for the appreciation of extra virgin olive oil, often celebrated as Italy's "green gold". The Objets-Bijoux collection brings together small, functional objects with an evocative design, conceived as jewellery to be carried along and intriguing for their dual nature: instrumental and ornamental, with shapes that refer to archetypal icons, immediately recognisable and resonant in everyone's memory. Poetic and highly functional, the design evokes a freshly picked olive branch, featuring a leaf and pouring spout that seamlessly blend sculptured art with table utility.

Precision Pourer & Freshness Cap: The pourer cap fits snugly into the neck of standard olive oil bottles. It allows for controlled drizzling so you pour only as much as needed over your dishes, while simultaneously limiting airflow to slow down the oxidation process once the bottle is opened. The clever leaf detail contains a subtle air hole that ensures a smooth, non-drip pour.

Professional Tasting Glass: When not inserted in a bottle, the pourer rests inside a specially designed green glass container. Shaped to professional tasting standards, the glass tapers toward the top to concentrate delicate aromas directly toward the nose. Its green hue prevents the oil's color from visually influencing professional sensory assessments while evoking the rich shade of first-press oil.

This "Fior d'olio" set is in brand-new, unused condition and comes complete with its original Alessi packaging.

Marta Sansoni is an architect and designer based in Florence, Italy, who earned her degree in architecture in 1990. After participating in Alessi’s landmark 1990 Memory Containers competition, she went on to design prominent architectural projects for private homes, restaurants, wine bars, and shops across Europe. For Alessi, she has created celebrated design families, including the iconic Cactus! and Ba-Rock collections, alongside numerous standalone design objects exhibited in international competitions and exhibitions.
