Rare and refined glass art object signed Val Saint Lambert, one of Europe’s most important historic crystal manufacturers (founded in 1826).
For sale a splendid table/dinner bell for collection, crafted with the famous double-crystal (cased crystal) technique. The piece is formed by blowing a first base of transparent crystal, subsequently coated with a layer of intensely ruby red crystal. The vertical geometric faceting and deep engravings, carried out entirely by hand by Belgian master artisans, remove the colored layer to reveal the underlying transparency and create exceptional light refractions.
The manufactory is distinguished by the use of crystal with a very high lead content (above 33% PbO, well beyond the common 24%), which guarantees brilliance close to a diamond and a clear, incredibly prolonged ring.
