Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Two bronze Louis XVI style side tables from ca. 1900–1910, with glass top and lower glass shelf, featuring a central floral relief on the back panel and a warm gilt patina; dimensions 73 cm high, 51 cm wide, 41 cm deep.
Description from the seller
They are two small bronze tables from the early 20th century that faithfully reinterpret the Louis XVI style, that neoclassical language that blends architectural sobriety with fine and symbolic ornament. Their structure, slender and perfectly proportioned, rests on four straight legs topped with small finials at the upper corners, a detail that adds verticality and an almost ceremonial air.
The design is organized on two levels: the upper glass surface, clean and transparent, which allows the lightness of the metal frame to be seen, and a lower glass shelf that reinforces functionality without diminishing elegance. But the true decorative accent appears on the back panel, where a central relief of a classic vase—with a bulbous body, stylized handles and a clearly defined base—becomes the protagonist. From it emerge finely modeled garlands, small ribbons and scrolls that evoke the iconography of Louis XVI: balance, order, references to antiquity, and a taste for symbolic ornamentation.
The bronze, with its warm, golden tone, adds presence without tipping into excess. The smooth patina and the casting work reveal the hand of workshops that, even in the 20th century, continued producing pieces of French-inspired design with great precision and an impeccable finish.
Overall, these nightstands convey distinction, symmetry, and refinement, perfect for accompanying interiors where neoclassicism brings serenity and a touch of aristocracy.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
