Domaine Patrick & Christophe Bonnefond: Côte-Rôtie x2, Syrah x2 and Viognier x2, 2024, 0.75 L bottles, 6 bottles.
Description from the seller
Domaine Patrick & Christophe Bonnefond : two passionate brothers crafting exceptional wines from the steep, schist slopes of Côte-Rôtie. Their Syrah and Viognier perfectly capture the essence of one of the Rhône Valley's most prestigious appellations. Understated, yet unmissable.
1) Côte Rôtie - Colline de Couzou 2024
This wine is a blend of several parcels located in the north and south of the appellation (Côte Brune and Côte Blonde), on schist, micaschist, iron oxide and granite terroirs. Vinified in stainless-steel vats for 3 weeks, with 30% of stalks, this wine is aged for 15-18 months in 400-liter barrels, 10% of which are new.
Appearance: Deep purple color.
Nose: Very rich nose with spices, particularly pepper, licorice, and violet.
Palate: Very focused on black fruit, with fairly tight tannins that will soften with time. Very silky finish...
Made from 100% Syrah grapes, this red wine has excellent aging potential and can be enjoyed until 2027.
2) Syrah - Sensation du Nord 2025
This wine is crafted from Syrah grapes grown on the granitic and schist hillsides of the northern Rhône Valley, vinified to capture the wild, expressive character of the terroir. Aged in oak barrels, it delivers an approachable yet complex expression of the North Rhône's signature grape.
Appearance: Deep, vibrant purple color.
Nose: Generous and expressive, with dark fruit, cracked pepper, violet, and a touch of smoky minerality.
Palate: Juicy black fruit at the forefront, with supple tannins and a fresh, lingering finish.
Made from 100% Syrah grapes, this red wine is perfect for early enjoyment while retaining good aging potential.
3) Viognier - Sensation du Nord 2025
This wine is crafted from Viognier grapes grown on the granitic soils surrounding the northern Rhône Valley appellations, vinified to preserve the grape's naturally aromatic and expressive character. Aged 8 months in oak barrels, it offers an elegant and accessible expression of this iconic white variety.
Appearance: Pale golden yellow color.
Nose: Fragrant and inviting, with white and exotic fruits, delicate citrus notes, and a touch of honey.
Palate: Round and fruity, with a beautiful aromatic freshness and a smooth, lingering finish.
Made from 100% Viognier grapes, this white wine is best enjoyed young to fully appreciate its vibrant fruit and floral character.
