Description from the seller
Urusei Yatsura – Lum & Ran – 2 overlapping original cels – Rumiko Takahashi – Vintage Anime
Beautiful original production set composed of two overlapping animation cels from the famous series Urusei Yatsura (うる星やつら), based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi.
The scene depicts Lum (Lamu) together with Ran, both portrayed in the foreground with very distinctive expressions.
The composition is created using two separate sheets of original acetate, one dedicated to Lum and the other to Ran. By overlaying the two cels you obtain the complete scene, as shown in the photographs. This feature makes the lot particularly interesting because it allows a concrete observation of the traditional animation technique used during production.
The cels also bear original production annotations and references, visible in the photographs.
The cels show marks and traces compatible with their age and with their actual use during the production process. The photographs show both the individual layers and the final composition obtained by overlaying the two cels and constitute an integral part of the description.
A fascinating piece of original Japanese animation, particularly interesting for collectors of Urusei Yatsura, Rumiko Takahashi, and vintage animation cels.
