Box - .800 silver - Guilloche enamel - Swan mark

An antique French solid silver circular box with a translucent guilloche enamel lid, hand-painted with an alpine cottage landscape: a stream, green hills and a blossoming tree. The interior keeps its original vermeil (gilt) finish. Stamped with the French swan (cygne) hallmark on the base and the inner rim, indicating silver of .800 or higher. Late 19th - early 20th century.

Dimensions: H 1.1 x W 5 x D 5 cm. Weight: 39 g.
