Offering this very rare Late Roman - Early Islamic, large protective eye bead.
Good condition, as found. See pictures
Circa 900 - 1100 AD.
Middle East
This glass bead - protective amulet is meant to protect against the evil eye, against illness and misfortune.
Very rare is the version with 15 protective eyes.
Chip at the top end / stress lines
Solid good condition
A particularly rare size:
Length: 61 mm
Width: 26 mm

The glass bead comes from an old, renowned collection, acquired in the 1960s from the estate of O. Sch. to his son - M. Sch.
