Description from the seller

Precious variety of Calcédonite from Madagascar — This lot features a superb Sakura Agate sphere, a particularly valued variety of chalcedony from Madagascar. The specimen has been masterfully worked and polished to enhance its extraordinary inner world, a three-dimensional landscape of inclusions that evoke delicate cherry blossoms suspended in time, from which its poetic commercial name derives. A careful observation reveals the piece’s complex beauty. The main mass consists of translucent chalcedony, with tones ranging from smoke gray to pale lilac, creating an ethereal, nebulous background. Within it float mineral aggregates of white-cream and pink colors, whose branched and botryoidal forms draw the characteristic “blooms.” Some reddish details, due to tiny traces of iron oxides, add warmth and chromatic contrast. The perfect sphericity and mirror polishing allow the depth of the mineral to be explored from every angle, offering ever-new play of light and perspectives. The formation of Sakura Agate is a fascinating geological process. Originating inside cavities (geodes) in volcanic rocks, this stone developed through the slow deposition of silica-rich solutions. The “blooms” are plumes of mineral inclusions that crystallized before the rest of the cavity was filled with translucent chalcedony, thus remaining “trapped” and preserved. Each sphere is therefore an unrepeatable instant of this geological event, a unique piece by nature. Beyond its undeniable mineralogical interest, this sphere represents an object of great aesthetic and decorative value. Its geometrically pure form and internal landscape make it a perfect element for contemplation, ideal to enrich a modern Wunderkammer, a professional study, or a library. It is a fragment of natural history transformed into sculpture, capable of dialoguing with interiors both classic and contemporary, bringing a touch of organic elegance and mystery. Technical details Name: Sakura Agate (chalcedony variety) Origin: Madagascar Dimensions: 62 x 62 x 62 mm Weight: 321 g Shape: Polished sphere Conditions: Natural specimen worked. Inclusions, internal lines and color variations are intrinsic characteristics and a prerogative of the mineral.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
