Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Halisaurus arambourgi, a Mosasaur specimen from Morocco, dating to the Cretaceous (145–66 Ma), in natural condition with a 40 cm matrix containing the jaw embedded.
Description from the seller
Scientific name:
Halisaurus arambourgi
Location:
Moroccan phosphate mines (Oulad Abdoun Basin – Khouribga)
Stage:
Cretaceous
Size:
Matrix: 40 cm
Description of the fossil:
A special and very rare specimen of Halisaurus arambourgi, a relatively uncommon basal mosasaur within the Moroccan phosphate deposits. The piece features a markedly complete jaw, with a large amount of preserved bone and teeth visible in their natural position.
The matrix, 40 cm, contains the embedded jaw and offers enormous potential: it can be worked to extract the complete jaw, since part of the bony material continues inside the rock.
This type of specimen, with so much bone integrity and originating from phosphates, is very difficult to find, making the piece an ideal fossil for advanced collectors and museum displays.
Restoration:
Unprepared matrix; natural fossils. Possibility of further preparation to expose more bone.
