Auction description

Offered: a very neat, fully tested and mechanically excellent Canon TX 35mm SLR from 1975 (serial number: 259253), complete with the sought-after bright Canon FD 50mm 1:1.8 S.C. (Spectra Coating) standard lens. The TX is known as an extremely rugged, reliable and fully mechanical camera.

Condition of the camera & lens:
- Cosmetic: In very nice condition with minimal signs of use for its age. The housing is free of major dents or deep scratches. Equipped with the original gold-colored JCII export-quality sticker.
- Mechanical: The fabric shutter curtain is undamaged, clean and fires correctly. The film advance lever and the shutter release operate smoothly. The mirror mechanism flips up and down properly.
- Light meter: Fully tested and working.
- Foam rubber (Light seals & Mirror bumper): The original foam rubber is in poor condition due to age. Both the light seals on the back lid and the mirror bumper (the foam strip at the top inside the mirror box where the mirror hits, see photo) have deteriorated and crumbled. This should be cleaned and replaced for optimal use (easy to repair yourself with a universal or specific light seal kit).
- Lens / Optics: The Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens is in optical top condition (100% good). The glass is completely free of scratches, mold or haze. The aperture ring and focus move very smoothly and the breech-lock mount at the rear is very clean.

Please study the detail photos closely for an accurate impression of the condition. The camera will be carefully packaged.
