Cristallo cristallized pink geminated orthoclase crystal (Ortoclasio Rosa Geminato), 88 g, from Baveno, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola Province, Piedmont, Italy.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals, we propose a splendid twin-crystal Orthoclase crystal from Baveno, in Piedmont.
Moreover, it features the characteristic swallowtail twinning, the delicate pink color, and well-developed terminal faces, elements that enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for its crystallization quality and for the overall esthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact.
Orthoclase is a potassium feldspar (KAlSi3O8) whose name derives from the Greek 'orthos' (straight) and 'klasis' (fracture), referring to the two perpendicular cleavage planes—a distinctive feature of the group. Baveno, on Lake Maggiore, is the type locality of the twinning known as the 'Baveno law', one of the three main types of orthoclase twinning along with Carlsbad and Manebach, recognizable precisely by the characteristic swallowtail shape. The pink color, typical of the granites in this area, is related to the presence of microscopic inclusions of iron oxides in the crystal lattice.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best showcase colors and details; however, slight color variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and carefully selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days within Europe), trackable and insured shipping, and professional and safe packing, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment, depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different end dates, simply contact us to organize the consolidation. For rare pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
