Description from the seller
McLaren MP4-31 – Stoffel Vandoorne – F1 Debut Bahrain GP 2016 – 1:18 Minichamps (Limited Edition, 200 pcs)
A superb 1:18 scale model of the McLaren-Honda MP4-31, the car in which Stoffel Vandoorne made his Formula 1 debut at the 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix, carrying race number #47.
Called up at the last minute to replace the injured Fernando Alonso, the young Belgian flew overnight from Japan and stepped straight into a car he had never driven before. He delivered a flawless performance — out-qualifying teammate Jenson Button and finishing 10th to score McLaren-Honda's first World Championship point of the 2016 season. It made him the first reserve driver to score points on debut since Sebastian Vettel in 2007, and marked the start of a Formula 1 career for one of Belgium's most talented modern drivers.
The MP4-31 also holds a special place in history as the last McLaren to carry the iconic "MP4" prefix.
A must-have for collectors of Vandoorne, McLaren, or modern Formula 1 — and a genuine piece of Belgian motorsport history.
