Description from the seller
The Barolo DOCG Castelletto Vigna Pressenda 2019 by Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Intense garnet red, clear and brilliant, with subtle ruby reflections typical of Nebbiolo in its evolving youth.
Nose: Deep and complex bouquet. Notes of small red and black fruits (ripe cherry, plum, blueberry) stand out, enriched by floral hints of violet and dried rose. Pleasant tertiary nuances follow, including licorice, sweet tobacco, dark spices, leather, mint, and a distinct mineral and balsamic edge.
Palate: Powerful, austere, and extremely structured on the palate. The tannic structure is dense and well-defined, supported by excellent acidity that brings freshness and drive to the sip. Extremely long, persistent, and elegant finish, destined for extraordinary bottle aging.
Critical Scores (2019 Vintage)
The 2019 vintage in Piedmont is considered exceptional for its balance, concentration, and aging potential. The Castelletto Vigna Pressenda 2019 received outstanding accolades:
Robert Parker / Wine Advocate: 96 / 100
James Suckling: 95 / 100
Vinous (Antonio Galloni): 95 / 100
Wine Spectator: 94 / 100
