Metal table fan by CGE (Compagnia Generale di Elettricità), model VTF25, dating from 1926–1930, in good used condition with minor signs of age, one-speed operation with original fabric-wrapped cord and ceramic plug, made in Milan, Italy; dimensions 32 x 28 x 17 cm.
Description from the seller
Splendid and exceptional example of Italian industrial archaeology: a table fan produced by CGE (Compagnia Generale di Elettricità - Milan) between 1926 and 1930.
This model (Type VTF25, Serial number 195926) presents itself in extraordinarily preserved condition for its age. Unlike most models on the market, this piece boasts features of absolute collectible rarity:
• Operational, but at a single speed, with the motor tested and turning regularly.
• Original Cable: Retains its iconic vintage fabric braided electrical cord.
• Ceramic Socket: Maintains its very rare original ceramic plug from the era, a detail extremely hard to find intact.
We emphasize that it runs very quietly, with powerful operation, but the speed regulator, though intact and with the click felt at the change, does not alter the speed. We have included photos of the electrical part because we think it is only a matter of wiring connections to be restored.
To put it into operation or switch it off, the plug must therefore be removed.
Lubricant reservoirs present, which we have cleaned and refilled with grease.
The body is heavy metal with the original black paint that shows a splendid patina of time. The brass identification plate on the back is perfectly legible and well preserved, fixed with its original rivets. The metal blades and the fine filament protective grille complete this early 20th-century design masterpiece.
An superb piece for demanding collectors, perfect to complete loft furnishings, professional studios or environments in industrial/vintage style.
Historical and safety note: The item is sold as a collectible piece, vintage item, and historical relic. As it is an electrical device from the 1920s lacking modern grounding, caution is advised for prolonged use or use via a suitable transformer.
Professional, accurate, and traceable shipping with reinforced packaging to preserve the item’s integrity.
WE DO NOT SHIP OUT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY
For the Islands we reserve the right to apply a surcharge for shipping costs possibly increased by the carriers.
