Description from the seller
Elegant Italian sauce-boat in solid 800 silver, made by a Vicentine manufactory identified by the stamp “266 VI,” attributable to the mid-20th century.
The piece stands out for its refined, slender, harmonious silhouette, characterized by an aesthetic balance of modernist taste with Art Deco references. The boat-shaped body, the pronounced pour lip, and the sinuous handle give the whole a presence that is extremely elegant and sculptural.
Particularly interesting is the contrast between the exterior surface, mirror-polished, and the delicate hand-hammered finish on the interior, a detail that adds depth and artisanal quality to the object. The feet decorated with a shell motif add a refined classical touch, perfectly balanced by the clean lines of the modernist design.
Original Italian hallmarks:
800
266 VI
which identifies a solid silver production from the Vicenza area.
Total weight:
circa 116 grams.
Unlike ordinary decorative silverware, this piece still exudes strong contemporary elegance today, making it ideal both as a collector’s item and as a decorative element for sophisticated interiors and internationally inclined tables.
Very good condition, with slight and physiological signs of age consistent with the object's age. Excellent overall preservation of surfaces and original proportions.
