Basettino female specimen Panurus biarmicus, mounted on a dark wooden support, measures 13 × 15 × 7 cm, weighs 140 g, originates from Italy, and is in good condition with excellent preservation.
Description from the seller
Female Basettino - Panurus biarmicus - 13 x 15 x 7cm - with support excellently prepared and preserved.
Description of the Lot:
Refined and exceptional taxidermy specimen depicting a female Basettino (Panurus biarmicus), crafted with mastery and extraordinary attention to anatomical details.
Unlike the male, the female of this species is distinguished by the absence of the typical "mustache" black markings and by a plumage with warmer and more uniform tones:
Plumage and Coloration: The head and back feature a delicate hazelnut-brown golden shade, fading into a softer tawny on the ventral parts. The wings show crisp white, brown and black stripes, kept in perfect preservation.
Anatomical Details: The tail, long and graduated, is posed with precision. The orange beak and the high-definition glass eyes convey a vigilant, natural and realistic expression.
Support: The bird is positioned on a dark wooden pedestal with a rustic and twisted finish, which ensures stability and an excellent visual impact for display.
State of Preservation:
Excellent. Complete, clean and well-preserved plumage, free of visible wear, parasites or fading.
A piece of notable ornithological interest, ideal for natural history collectors or to complete a display pair together with the male specimen.
