Bronze sculpture by Marcus Ravenswaaij (1925–2003), an expressively figurative work depicting a elegantly dressed man who appears to be a scientist or researcher, signed on the base with the artist’s name and the back featuring the WM foundry monogram; dimensions 18 cm wide, 37 cm high, 15 cm deep, weight 3.7 kg, origin Netherlands, in excellent original condition.

Beautiful and characteristic bronze artwork by the renowned Dutch sculptor Marcus Ravenswaaij (1925–2003). Ravenswaaij, also known as the city sculptor of Gorinchem, is widely recognized for his lively, expressive, and figurative sculptures.
This dynamic sculpture depicts an elegantly dressed gentleman (possibly a scientist, physician, or researcher) who is closely studying a small object in his raised hand. The piece is fully signed on the front of the base plate with the inscription “M. v. Ravenswaaij.” On the rear, there is the characteristic monogram “WM” in high relief, the founder’s mark of the bronze foundry with which the artist collaborated.
The object is in excellent, exceptionally original condition with a very beautiful, vividly patinated surface. A superb collector’s item for connoisseurs of post-war Dutch sculpture.
