The Canon EF 100-300mm f/5.6 L is the L-series telephoto zoom from 1987, built with fluorite and UD glass to control colour fringing at a time when few zooms could. It holds f/5.6 across the range, so exposure does not change as you zoom, and it comes with its hood.
