Description from the seller

Higonokami Damascus Layered Bronze Knife – Original Japanese SK5 Knife – Made in Japan

Category Catawiki:
Collector knives / Traditional Japanese knives

Description:
Elegant traditional Japanese Higonokami knife, made in Japan according to the historic artisanal tradition of the famous Nippon folders. This model features a refined “Damascus” construction with a high-hardness carbon steel SK5 blade (around HRC 60), appreciated for its excellent cutting ability and long edge retention.

The minimalist, functional design is typical of authentic Higonokami: manual opening via rear lever (“chikiri”), slim profile and essential lines that evoke the Japanese culture of the traditional utilitarian knife.

The handle in steel with a bronze finish is embellished with inscriptions in Japanese and a terminal hole for a cord, a practical and characteristic detail of Japanese daily-use knives. The blade presents a slender and elegant geometry, ideal for both collectors and light use.

Authentic Japanese production, highly sought after by enthusiasts of Eastern cutlery, vintage-style EDC, and the Higonokami tradition.
