Canon Model 7 + 1,8/50mm | Analogue camera

CANON 7 + Canon 50mm F1.8, tested and working.

Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.

The Canon 7 (1961) is one of the finest Japanese rangefinder cameras of its era, combining a Leica-thread (M39) lens mount with a bright combined viewfinder offering projected frame lines for 35, 50, 85/100 and 135mm lenses, and a built-in selenium exposure meter. It was the camera that launched Canon's famous 50mm f/0.95 'dream lens'. Offered here with the Canon 50mm f/1.8 standard lens; the M39 mount also adapts readily to modern mirrorless cameras.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1.2 s (approx. 0.3 stop fast)
- 1/60 — measured 1/56 s (approx. 0.1 stop slow)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/761 s (approx. 0.4 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.5 OVER / EV15: 1.4 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Known Issues
1. 1/8 s runs fast and 1/30 s is slightly sluggish.
2. Wrinkles in the front shutter curtain.
3. The frame-line illumination window has come loose.
4. Many fine cleaning marks on the rear lens element.
