Large hand-painted Delft blue stoneware vase by De Porceleyne Fles/Royal Delft, dating CU 1975 with the official year code, 33 cm high and 14 cm in diameter, in excellent condition and originating from the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Elegant large vase from the traditional manufactory De Porceleyne Fles / Royal Delft, executed in classic Delft Blue. The annual code CU dates the painting unmistakably to 1975; this is confirmed by the official annual code list from Royal Delft.
The vase possesses a particularly beautiful, balanced form with a boldly curved body, long slender neck, and outward, flowing mouth. The entirely hand-painted decoration shows a lush floral landscape with large blossoms, fine foliage, branches and small insects. Different cobalt blue tones give depth to the painting and make individual blossoms appear almost three-dimensional.
At the bottom is the characteristic mark of De Porceleyne Fles with apothecary bottle, the entwined initials JT for Joost Thooft and “Delft”. This combination is documented by Royal Delft as a designation of hand-painted production since 1879.
Beside are the painter's initials “A.BR.” as well as the year code CU. According to the official system, to the left of the factory mark are the initials of the painter and to the right the year code.
A decoratively very effective Royal Delft vase, in which the classic form and the exceptionally dense floral hand painting interact especially beautifully.
The item is wrapped in cushioning foil and surrounded by bio-styrofoam in a double-walled carton shipped by DHL.
