Elegant Service of 12 Coffee/Dessert Spoons in 800 Silver
Precious and elegant complete set of 12 coffee or dessert spoons in 800 fineness (Titolo 800) of Italian manufacture, splendidly preserved inside its original antique case. Technical Characteristics and Details
• Material: Solid 800/1000 Silver (Continental Silver).
• Composition: The set includes 12 pieces (coordinated spoons).
• Total weight (net cutlery): 108 grams (verified on precision scale, as per attached image).
• Stamping / Marks:
• 800 mark enclosed in an oval cartouche certifying the authenticity and purity of the alloy (80% pure silver).
• Next to it is the identifying mark of the Italian silversmith inside the classic hexagonal lozenge with truncated sides.
• Era / Dating: 20th century (approximate period 1944–1968, considering the punch type without the fasces and prior to the introduction of the Republic star).
• Case: Original rigid antique case with dark blue outer lining and interiors in elegant white/ivory satin fabric shaped to hold each piece individually. On the inner bottom is the original gold retailer label.
Condition
The set is offered in excellent vintage condition. The silver shows a light, natural patina of time (surface oxidation, especially on the back of the handle as visible in the photo), a sign of authenticity, easily polishable with specific products if you wish to restore the maximum original brilliance. No structural deformations or relevant defects are evident. The outer case is intact and fully functional.
