Two-drawer vintage console in Rococo Venetian style, circa 1940s–1950s, with a solid wood frame and veneered top, finished in warm brown, dimensions 65 cm high, 62 cm wide, 28 cm deep, and about 20 kg.
Description from the seller
Refined and compact two-drawer Rococo / Venetian Baroque-style commission cabinet, splendid handmade Italian craftsmanship from the mid-20th century (roughly the 1940s/1950s). The furniture stands out for its gracefully undulating and bombé line (bombé silhouette), supported by four slender cabriole legs finely shaped with geometric and foliate carvings on the feet.
The structure is entirely veneered with a fine wood inlaid surface showing warm visible grain arranged to create a suggestive geometric play of symmetry on the front and sides. The two drawers, spacious and perfectly fitted into the curved line of the piece, are embellished with splendid original handles in bronze or bronzed metal worked with baroque motifs. The top panel follows the shaped and moulded silhouette of the furniture, highlighting the quality of the wood grain.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and slender silhouette, this piece adapts magnificently both as a small entryway chest and as a refined accent piece in a living room or bedroom, blending perfectly with both classical furnishings and eclectic or contemporary interiors.
Details and Conditions:
• Era: Around 1940-1960
• Country of origin: Italy
• Materials: Wood structure, inlay in fine wood species (probably olive, walnut, or burr), handles in cast metal worked.
• Conditions: The piece presents in good vintage condition, solid and structurally integral. It shows the normal and slight signs of time and age on the surface finish, which attest to its authenticity and enhance its charm (please carefully view the photo gallery for details).
