Description from the seller
Antique Microscope Fratelli Koristka Milan, 1930s – Complete set with case, vintage monocular from the historic Milanese company Fratelli Koristka, one of the main Italian microscope manufacturers between the late 1800s and early 1900s.
• Serial number engraved: No. 111032 — presumably datable to the early 1930s.
• A piece not common: after careful research, I found similar models but not an identical specimen.
• Provenance: purchased as part of a lot of scientific material for military use, likely equipment of a medical/health unit (not verifiable with documentation). The hammered brown-olive varnish finish is consistent with that used on war-era optical instruments.
• The lot includes: Metal body/stem with hammered effect finish, horseshoe-shaped base, tilting arm, circular metal table, rack-and-pinion focusing + fine micrometric adjustment, Revolver objective holder with 3 original Koristka objectives: 10x, 42x and 100x immersion oil — the latter rarely found complete, Original Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm, illumination mirror, Original/coeval metal carrying case with leather handle, Accessory kit in the base cap: bulb, socket with cord, small spare mirror/lens (intact only on one side)
Conditions: Signs of use and wear of the paint consistent with the instrument’s age (96 years). Not being an industry expert, I’m attaching close-up photos taken at 10x as an indication of general operation, which I cannot guarantee is fully functional.
Ideal piece for collectors of antique scientific instruments, technology history enthusiasts, or museums. Feel free to message me for additional photos or details!
