Black Morion quartz crystals on matrix from Russia.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals, we propose a rare group of quartz crystals of the Morion variety originating from Russia.
Moreover, it is characterized by gleaming black crystals, arranged in a dense cluster on a light matrix, with the characteristic di-pyramidal habit referred to as the “beta-quartz” form; a historic-era certificate accompanies the piece, elements which, together with the rare provenance, increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
The intense black color of Morion is due to structural defects in the quartz (SiO2) lattice, related to trace amounts of aluminum and exposure to natural radiation over geological time. The “beta-quartz” habit described on the card refers to the di-pyramidal morphology of the crystals: although chemically quartz alpha, stable at surface temperatures, they retain the typical shape of the beta polymorph, stable only above 573°C, indicating the thermal formation conditions. Russia boasts historical quartz-smoked and Morion crystallization localities in pegmatitic and alpine environments, appreciated by collectors for quality and rarity on the Western market.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in tone may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), trackable and insured shipping and professional, safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contacting us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
