Voigtländer Vito II (35mm) – Unique Edition "Homage to Giuseppe Verdi" – Florentine Art Restoration
Object Description:
A perfect blend of German mechanics and Italian operatic art.
We offer at auction a unique, unrepeatable art piece: a classic 35mm bellows camera Voigtländer Vito II, skillfully reimagined and transformed into a collectible work.
The reinterpretation work was carried out by a master restorer with over 30 years of experience in restoring artworks and antiques in Florence.
To pay homage to the mechanical excellence and engineering precision of Voigtländer’s production era, the artist paired it with the timeless perfection of classical music and its maestro par excellence: Giuseppe Verdi.
Details of the customization:
Design & theme: the casing features a fascinating artistic composition with geometric and theatrical taste, inspired by lyric set designs. On the body, the titles of Verdi’s greatest operas are finely inscribed: "Aida", "Rigoletto" and "La Traviata", enriched with musical notes and theatrical masks.
Innovative technical material: the original leatherette has been completely replaced with a new, state-of-the-art technical material, resistant to wear, humidity and liquids, ensuring durability and protection.
Handcrafted finish: every detail is finished by hand in Florence, making this specimen a 1/1 unique piece in the world.
Technical specifications:
Brand: Voigtländer Model: Vito II
Type: Folding camera 35mm Origin: Germany
Lens: Voigtländer Color-Skopar
Aesthetic Conditions: fair
Custom Art – As per detailed photos.
Mechanical Conditions: The bellows opens and closes with flexibility, the film winding rotors and controls are well preserved. (Recommended full service/test for potential professional photographic use). Operation is not always smooth.
The last 3 photos show elasticity and resistance tests to tears, abrasions and cuts, as well as resistance to adhesion of the decorated surface and to the waterproof treatment.
