Description from the seller
Centerpiece in iridescent glass with a decorative dolphin-supported base – Venice, late 19th / early 20th century
Description
Elegant centerpiece from the end of the 19th century / early 20th century, consisting of a refined iridescent glass cup, characterized by a lattice-work surface and a wavy, undulating rim.
The bowl is supported by an elaborate metal base in a neoclassical and late Empire taste, adorned with decorative dolphin-shaped elements, a motif frequently used in classical and imperial-inspired decorative art. The base features a contoured structure and relief ornaments, with decorative feet.
The ensemble combines the lightness and changing effects of the glass with the sculptural presence of the support, creating an object of particular decorative value.

Stylistic provenance: probably Venice, Italy
