AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of antique Turkmen Yomut Chuval rugs, late 19th century, c. 1890.

The two pieces present a very harmonious composition, with the characteristic deep red background and successive rows of geometric gul motifs, in shades of red, salmon, dark blue, brown and ivory, framed by multiple decorative borders.
Handwoven in wool over wool, they retain a beautiful chromatic intensity and the patina typical of pieces over a century old.
They show signs of aging and use, localized wear and old restorations/repairs, including visible reinforcements on the back. These elements are documented in the photographs and are consistent with the age of the pieces.
The two rugs are sold exclusively as a pair and have remained in a private collection since their purchase.
