AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Magnificent and elegant Moët & Chandon champagne cooler, French-made ARGIT – M.O.D., Meaux, dating from the 1960s-1970s.

Made of aluminum with a silver finish, it presents a beautiful cylindrical silhouette with sober, timeless lines, enhanced at the top by a rich raised design of grapevine tendrils. Delicately drawn leaves, winding shoots and generous clusters of grapes run all around the cooler, elegantly evoking the world of the vine and champagne.

Two substantial movable ring handles, held by remarkable fittings also adorned with leaves and grape clusters, complete this particularly successful decoration.

On the front proudly appears the emblematic engraved inscription:

« MOËT & CHANDON – Fondé en 1743 »

surmounted by its crown and ribbon, instantly recognizable emblems of the famous Champagne House of Épernay.

The bottom retains its French-made marking, now partially faded by time:

« M.O.D. MEAUX – ARGIT – Made in France », allowing this piece to be linked to the French ARGIT productions.

Its silver finish, especially luminous, offers beautiful reflections and nicely contrasts with the generous relief of the grapevines.

In good condition for its age.
It is worth noting only some light signs of use and micro-scratches visible in places, perfectly consistent with its age and naturally bearing witness to the life of this authentic vintage object.

At once a service item, decorative piece and collector’s item, this superb cooler has a lot of presence. Adorned with a beautiful bottle of champagne, it will naturally make a particularly elegant piece on a table, sideboard or in a bar.
