AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant vintage wall-mount mirrors in the shape of a large pocket watch (model “à gousset”), dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1950s/1970s). The circular structure is made from solid brass with refined fluted and grooved detailing along the outer edges. The mirrors are topped with a faux winding crown and a hanging ring, faithful reproductions of the details found on antique watches.

Exceptional rarity: Both pieces retain their original olive-green grosgrain fabric suspension strap, complete with the double system of brass and brushed metal rings for wall mounting. Since these are delicate textiles that are usually lost or replaced over the decades, their intact, contemporaneous presence significantly increases the set’s collecting value.

The back features the characteristic three perforated spherical brass feet, which act as spacers to keep the mirror perfectly parallel and stable on the wall once hung. Excellent overall vintage condition, consistent with age and use. The brass displays a beautiful, genuine dark patina from time in the grooves, highlighting its three-dimensionality. The inner glass is intact and the reflective surface is excellent, free from any noticeable tarnish or delamination. The fabric is solid and without tears.
