For Maison Jansen brass double palm lamp in Hollywood Regency style, circa 1960–1970, with integrated lighting (two bulbs per palm), metal patina and a decorative bronze finish, measuring 105 cm in height, 20 cm in depth and width, weight 15 kg, originating from France and in good used condition while in working order.
Description from the seller
Maison Jansen – Hollywood Regency palm tree lamp – brass – circa 1970
A particularly decorative and original palm tree lamp from the renowned French interior house Maison Jansen.
The lamp is executed as a double palm tree, with two richly formed frond crowns of brass and beautifully detailed, bamboo-like trunks. The lighting (two bulbs per palm) is located between the leaves, creating a warm, atmospheric glow when switched on and the texture of the metal is beautifully emphasized.
The combination of brass, the dark square base and the sculptural form is characteristic of the luxurious Hollywood Regency style for which Maison Jansen became known in the latter half of the twentieth century.
Even when the lamp is not lit it is a striking decorative object. Due to the height differences of the two palms and the individually shaped leaves, the lamp presents a different view from every angle.
The lamp is in nice vintage condition, with a natural patina that suits the age and character of the piece. This patina has been deliberately preserved. See the photos for a good impression of the condition.
A highly characteristic example of the flamboyant French interior design of the 1960s/70s and a beautiful object for lovers of Maison Jansen, Hollywood Regency and vintage design.
