Antique Umbertino cabinet in walnut wood and burr veneer dating to circa 1900–1910, 170 cm high, 100 cm wide, 50 cm deep, one piece, lockable, from Italy (Puglia), in good used condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Mobile cabinet in walnut and burr walnut – late 19th century
I am selling an elegant antique piece in walnut wood with burr, featuring artisan craftsmanship of high quality and rich decorations typical of the Umbertine/eclectic taste of the late 1800s. The piece has: two doors with burr walnut panels that are highly figured; a large upper drawer with decorative metal gold-toned handles and hardware; wooden frames and moldings; vertical supports with carved elements and ornamental scrolls; carved and decorative feet; period hardware; the back made with wooden boards, coherent with traditional construction. The cabinet retains the charm and patina of time, but shows signs, scratches and surface wear, as visible in the photographs. It therefore requires possible cleaning/restoration and polishing, depending on the finish you wish to achieve. Inside, a fragment of newspaper dated May 1897 was found, and is kept with the cabinet. The newspaper is not considered proof of the cabinet’s dating.
Advice to prepare plenty of bubble wrap and boxes for transport.
