Rallye Monte Carlo sign, original 1963 competitor plaque number 243, made of pressed aluminium, dimensions 44 × 20 cm, in good original condition with age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Original vintage competitor plate from the 1963 Rallye Monte-Carlo, featuring race number 243.
Made from pressed aluminum with raised lettering and numbers. A rare piece of European motorsport history, ideal for an automobilia collection, classic car garage or racing-themed interior.
The plaque displays extensive authentic age-related wear, including heavy paint loss, scratches, oxidation and multiple mounting holes. The remaining paint is fragile and continues to crumble and flake. The exposed aluminum is also oxidizing due to age. Please handle carefully. It is sold in untouched, as-found condition and should not be cleaned or restored.
Based on its construction, dimensions, pressed form and natural aging, it is believed to be an original plaque issued for the 1963 rally. The exact crew assigned to number 243 has not been confirmed.
