Description from the seller

J.P.L. (Jean Pouyat Limoges) Antique Style Rococo Wall Plate . Very Rare. 1906

This Stunning Limoges porcelain wall plate features a gallant and festive stage decor in the style of the 16th century (Rococo / neo-classical) by Prestigious and famous porcelain factory in Limoges Jean Pouyat
The central motif represents a group of elegant aristocrats and children having fun outside.
It’s a large presentation wall plate, recognisable by its marli (edge) richly moulded in relief with sinuous contours and integrated handles worked in the mass.

The decor combines a chromolithography base (thermal transfer) with paint or gilding highlights applied by hand by the decorators of the Pouyat workshop.
On the reverse marked “J.P.L. (Jean Pouyat Limoges) above "L." and "France". The mention "Pat. Jan. 23rd 1906" refers to a patent filed on that date.
The manufacturer's mark "J.P. Limoges" corresponds to the productions of Jean Pouyat, one of the most renowned and prestigious porcelain factories in Limoges at that time.
The mention 1906 indicates precisely the year of decoration or production of the porcelain white.
There’s small visible crack near the edge of the right handle .

A beautiful and elegant decorative plate, ideal for wall display or for enriching your collection of Limoges.
