KPM - Vase - Porcelain - 1962

A glazed porcelain vase by KPM Berlin (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur), 1962, with the factory mark on the base.

KPM Berlin, founded in 1763 under Frederick the Great, is one of Europe's oldest porcelain manufactories still in production; its West Berlin works issued a range of modernist forms through the 1950s and 1960s. This compact, wide-bodied vase belongs to that mid-century output; the seller attributes the form to the KPM design team of the period (Hubert Griemert, Trude Petri) - unconfirmed.

Marks: KPM factory mark on the base (see photographs).

Condition: very good - no chips, cracks, repairs or restorations; the glaze is intact.
