Description from the seller
A miniature cameo glass vase attributed to the Nancy workshop of Gallé, made circa 1900 during the height of the Art Nouveau movement. The body is worked in two layers of glass, a warm orange ground overlaid with brown, and decorated with a naturalistic plant motif through an acid-etched and fire-polished cameo technique described in the original listing as scorched layering. The piece carries a cameo signature reading 'Gallé' on the body. At 9 cm height and 6 cm diameter it is a true cabinet-scale miniature, a format associated with the Gallé atelier and widely collected during the period. Condition: Good. The vase presents well overall; however, a black hand-painted ring is visible at the rim, which may indicate a repair or restoration to a chip or crack at that location. No other chips, cracks, or losses are noted to the body or foot. Attribution is to the Gallé workshop on the basis of the cameo signature; direct attribution to Émile Gallé himself is not claimed, as the workshop continued production under the Gallé name after his death in 1904 until 1936.
Size: 9 x 6 cm.
