Description from the seller
Large Polished Petrified Wood Slice – 36 cm / 4.3 kg – Dipterocarpus – Java, Indonesia (Miocene)
An exceptional specimen of petrified wood (Dipterocarpus sp.) sourced from the ancient rainforests of Java, Indonesia. Dating back to the Miocene epoch (approx. 5 to 23 million years ago), this slice displays a sweeping cross-section of annual growth rings in rich olive, mocha, and cream tones.
Visual & Aesthetic Highlights:
Natural Mineral Features: Features a defined central fracture filled with translucent agate/chalcedony veins, bordered by contrasting dark wood grain and warm sapwood tones.
Surface Characteristics: Includes two authentic natural dimples/vugs on the polished face—one located near the lower-left edge and another toward the upper-right section—authenticating its raw, untreated mineral origin.
High-Gloss Finish: Mirror-polished on the primary face to enhance the deep color transitions and subtle wood grain, framed by a natural bark-textured perimeter.
Display Presence: Measuring 36 cm long and weighing 4.3 kg, its wide oval silhouette makes it an impressive centerpiece for display stands, shelves, or tabletop arrangements.
