Magnificent and authentic antique French-character porcelain doll from the Léon Prieur house (LP Paris), iconic model "Mon Chéri". Made around 1915 (World War I period), it was created at the time to compete with the German doll market.
Major features & Condition:
Head in biscuit porcelain: In perfect condition. No hairline (hairline), no chip, no restoration. A superb expressive face and delicately painted.
Neck stamp: Engraved in relief "Mon Chéri LP PARIS".
Sleep eyes: Magnificent brown glass eyes with their original mechanism perfectly functional. Very fine painted lashes.
Earrings pierced: Equipped with its rare original pearl earrings.
Original articulated body: Body in composition and period wood with ball joints. It bears its authentic red transfer mark "LP" on the buttock, proving that the head and body are original and inseparable. Normal wear and light age cracks at the joints due to its great age (110 years), but all fingers and toes are present.
Outfit & Wig: Sold with a lovely red and green plaid Scottish dress, a hat/bow and a small matching bag. The blond fringe wig is a later replacement.
