Jewellery box - Wood and Brass - Large Vintage Jewelry Box

Elegant antique Chinese jewelry/case for cosmetics box crafted in the second half of the 20th century.
A piece with striking decorative and functional impact, characterized by exceptional attention to detail and superior workmanship.

Wood structure with rich, glossy burgundy/dark mahogany tone lacquer, finished with a evocative veined/tortoiseshell effect that gives great depth to the surface.
Brass hardware, raised and engraved:
The box is enriched with important fittings, hinges, locks and corner brackets in brass. The reinforcement plates are finely hand-engraved with traditional natural motifs (including bamboo canes and geometric patterns).
On the top stands a large perforated brass plaque/handle with the classic symbol of good luck for the Double Happiness / Longevity (囍 - Shuāngxǐ).
The handles of the three drawers are shaped in the characteristic stylized bat form (a symbol of fortune and prosperity in Chinese culture).

Interior and Brocaded Silk: Opening the upper lid reveals an original oval-shaped mirror and a storage compartment.
The front features a hinged door on the left (vertical compartment ideal for bottles or taller items) and three stacked drawers on the right. The entire interior lining is in elegant red silk/silk brocade with floral motifs.
Present is the original vintage metal stamp "Made in China" (中国制造).

Conditions: Excellent vintage condition. The piece is intact, solid and very well preserved. The lacquer is glossy with minimal and negligible signs of time consistent with its age. Clean and intact inner silk. The original mirror in perfect condition. Brass with a beautiful natural patina.
