Figurine tribale d’Afrique de l’ouest - Statue - Unknown

The fact that the statuette is extremely heavy (more than a kilogram for only 23 cm) testifies to the high density of the metal. For the Ogboni Society, the heavy metal (sometimes reinforced by an iron core) symbolizes durability, immutable justice, and strength, according to their famous motto: “Grow old and be as strong as iron.”
