AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
These Orthoceras were aquatic animals that lived during the geological ages from 470 to 252 million years ago.
This now extinct creature is compared to today’s squids, which is why the designation “primeval squid” is sometimes used.
The fossil remains from southern Morocco are interlaced with white to gray stripes or rings and are found primarily in shales, but also in limestones, and are excellent as a display piece or also as a collectible.
