Description from the seller
This impressive egg made of natural petrified wood, weighing 2.6 kg, is an extraordinary natural artwork that formed over millions of years. During the fossilization process the original wood was gradually replaced by mineral-rich solutions, preserving the unique wood structure to this day.
The intense color variety makes this specimen particularly spectacular. Bright red, orange, gold, brown, and amber tones merge into a fascinating play of color that recalls a glowing sunset. The natural grain of the fossilized wood runs elegantly through the entire egg and is complemented by fine mineral inclusions as well as authentic growth structures. Each side reveals new details and makes this single piece a focal point from every angle.
The harmonious egg shape traditionally symbolizes life, renewal, and perfection. The elaborate high-gloss polish makes the extraordinary colors, depths, and natural structures especially impressive and gives the fossil a striking sense of depth.
Petrified wood is among the most fascinating fossils on Earth and is associated with grounding, stability, and inner calm in the practice of stone healing. It is said to help cultivate patience and strengthen the connection to nature. These effects are based on traditional lore and are not scientifically proven.
With a stately weight of 6.5 kg, its extraordinary color intensity, and the superbly preserved wood structure, this fossil egg is suitable both as a high-quality collectible and as an exclusive decorative object for living spaces, practices, or galleries.
A unique specimen of natural petrified wood – millions of years of Earth history united in an exceptionally color-rich fossil of impressive size and quality.

Natural Petrified Wood Egg
Weight: 2693,69g
Size: 135x85mm
Treatment: None
Origin: Madagascar
It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone : there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks.
Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood : the silicon.
And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
