Leather horse sculpture with saddle and tack on a metal base - Omersa / Liberty style - mid 20th century

Refined sculpture depicting a horse in an elegant pose, with one front leg raised in a dressage step, entirely upholstered in cognac and dark brown leather hand-worked. The animal is rendered with great care to detail: mane and neck with pleated leather, modeled leather ears, dark eyes, nostrils and muzzle shaped with visible stitching.

The horse is complete with tack: black leather bridle with metal studs and reins, light leather saddle with girth and cinch, brass stirrups and braided cord girth that follows the line of the girth. The hooves and tail are in dark leather, with patinated effect.

The sculpture rests on a curved black metal rod fixed to a square metal base, supporting the animal in a dynamic pose and enhancing its stance.

This type of leather horses, made with artisanal technique on an inner core, is in the style of those produced in the mid-20th century (Omersa / Liberty London area) and highly sought after in interior decor, for studies, libraries and classic or country-chic environments.
