AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Iconic Iittala Festivo candleholder set, designed in 1966 by the legendary Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva.
"Characteristic" for this world-famous piece of Scandinavian design is the rough texture of the pressed glass that evokes melting ice or ice crystals. Originally Sarpaneva designed the form as a unique wine glass for himself, but when he saw the loose glass stems in the factory, he decided to turn them into candlesticks.
The Festivo series is known for the different sizes being indicated by the number of 'rings' or knots on the stem. In this image there are four different sizes:
2x • 1 ring (ca. 80 mm high)
• 2 rings (ca. 120 mm high)
• 4 rings (ca. 180 mm high)
