AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful Campari sign for sale, metal, enamelled, red with white lettering.

Size 80 x 40 x 1.6 cm
Weight 3 kg

It shows some small signs of wear that testify to the passing of time and give it greater charm.

The Campari Bitter was created in 1860 by Gaspare Campari. He designed and produced in 1850 in Novara several liqueurs. Among them there was an herb bitter that he refined for several years until, in 1860, he began producing and distributing it at a Novara venue, the "Caffè dell'Amicizia". Campari moved to Milan in 1862 and in 1867 opened the "Caffè Campari" in the Vittorio Emanuele II gallery. The place soon drew artists and high society, becoming a fashionable spot. In 1915, Gaspare's son, Davide Campari, opened a smaller venue on the opposite corner of the gallery. There he began offering his products as aperitifs (instead of digestives, as was customary at the time).

This wall plaque is perfect as a décor piece for mid-century modern, retro, and antique styling. I’m not an expert on enamelled metal signs and I can’t tell if it’s original or not; I only know that it’s very beautiful and looks quite old.
