Description from the seller
Murano Glass Art Sculptural Goblet - Masterpiece signed by Maestro Andrea Boscolo - Circa 1998 - Unique Showcase Work with Marine Motif
LOT DESCRIPTION:
Extraordinary collectible sculptural goblet in genuine Murano glass, entirely handmade and signed with a diamond-point on the bottom “A. Boscolo” by the famous Venetian master Andrea Boscolo around 1998. The author, who passed away prematurely in 2009, is recognized in the island’s glassmaking history as an exceptional innovator and a modern pioneer in lampworking and hot-working techniques applied to complex, virtuosic works.
This goblet is a showroom masterpiece, a true work of art that demonstrates an extraordinary technical mastery.
The upper cup (drinking part) and the supporting foot display a refined internal decoration with color inclusions that react chemically, creating suggestive color variations in tones of green, aquamarine, and burnt brown. The central stem is a triumph of hot-working modeling, composed of geometrically shaped elements including ribbed spheres and yellow- and red-dotted modules. Toward the end of the stem stands out a magnificent figurative element applied with heat: a multicolored blue, yellow, and red fish, explicitly recalling the rich marine fauna of the Venice Lagoon.
A historic and unrepeatable piece of the highest collectible value.
Details of the work:
• Author / Master: Andrea Boscolo (Murano, signed on the bottom).
• Era: Circa 1998 (late 20th century).
• Technique: Artistic blown glass, lampworking, and free hot-working modeling.
• Dimensions: Height 22 cm.
• Weight: 153 grams.
• Condition: As-new gallery condition. 100% intact, with no chipping, straw marks, or defects.
Professional shipping suitable to the delicacy and value of the object.
