Rare form of a large, heavy rectangular cheese mold, complete with its accompanying lid. Material: heavy, thick solid wood with metal bands and a handle. Origin: the Netherlands. Period: around 1940–1950. The curdled milk was pressed into the wooden mold and then the lid was placed on top.
