Yardley & Co. Ltd., London presents a vintage wooden framed glass mirror titled Yardley reclamespiegel, model Fine Soap Makers, in brown and gold with royal warrants and decorative lettering, dating to ca. 1960–1970, external size 51 x 36 cm, in good used condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Original vintage Yardley advertising mirror with decorative gold-toned ornaments and the text “Yardley – Fine Soap Makers Since 1770”. The mirror is set in a characteristic wooden frame and has a classic English appearance.
Special are the two depicted British royal coats of arms with Royal Warrant inscriptions. One bears the text “By Appointment to H.M. Queen Elizabeth II – Manufacturers of Soap – Yardley & Co. Ltd. London”. The other states “By Appointment to H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother – Perfumers and Manufacturers of Soap – Yardley & Co. Ltd. London”.
These inscriptions indicate that Yardley was at the time appointed as a supplier to the British royal household and form a nice historical detail of the mirror.
centrally is a colorful historical Yardley image, surrounded by the original decorative lettering and ornaments.
Dating: presumably ca. 1960–1970.
Manufacturer/brand: Yardley & Co. Ltd., London.
Designer: unknown.
In nice vintage condition with signs of use and patina appropriate to its age.
