Description from the seller
STRENGTHS:
• 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ71, with turbodiesel engine.
• Rare version, sought after by specialists and collectors, combining the short wheelbase with the power of the 3.4L turbo.
• Chassis and underbody fully painted and finished in ultra-resistant Raptor coating.
HISTORY/PRESENTATION:
Produced by Toyota, the Land Cruiser BJ71 of the 70 series is an iconic off-road vehicle famed for its legendary ruggedness and its 3.4L direct-injection turbodiesel engine (13B-T).
Sporty and sought-after version: Same short chassis as the BJ70, but equipped with the 13T-BT engine (direct injection + turbocharger).
What changes: It addresses the power deficit of the BJ70. It is one of the few vintage short-wheelbase chassis that combines a very compact footprint with immediate torque and dynamic response.
This 1987 example benefited from a substantial renovation by the seller, covering both the bodywork and the mechanics and underpinnings.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
The body and paint have been restored.
New elements: bumpers, running boards, windshield, lights and license plate illuminate.
The chassis and entire underbody have been treated and painted with an ultra-durable Raptor finish, without resorting to thick blaxon.
INTERIOR:
Original interior.
In very good condition.
Everything works.
See photos.
MECHANICS:
The suspension and braking system have been completely overhauled with the replacement of parts with new ones: calipers, brake cylinders, aviation hoses, shock absorbers, leaf springs, and steering ball joints.
Aluminium wheels
New tires.
The air conditioning circuit is fitted with a new radiator; compressor overhaul remains to be planned.
The exhaust line is also new.
Oil changes for the engine, gearbox and axles have been performed.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is supplied with its registration document (French two-seater carte grise).
OTHER:
The vehicle can be viewed and picked up by appointment.
Transport, shipping, ownership transfer or export fees are the buyer’s responsibility, unless otherwise indicated.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
